Here are some of my friends or people I've had contact with - this is a very old list.

I met Dave Keenan and his (now) wife Janelle Briggs at a personal growth course at the Brisbane Relaxation Centre around 1984. Both worked at the University of Queensland where I also worked. We've gone a few island trips together. Both are into computers and peace and environment stuff. Dave and I have done a few joint projects together -including some work with the transputer and research into absorption fridges. Dave is also a permaculture designer.

Apart from seeing Mike Van Emmerik on the train to school sometimes (different school, same train) we probably met at a micro-processor interest group around 1978. Obviously we had a common interest in computers but later did other things together. Mike came on a few of the island trips which is how he met his wife Margaret Van Emmerik

Richard Faint organized a computer club meeting in Ipswich around 1979. He was another PC homebrewer. I was also interested in ultralight aircraft @ the time and Richard's father flew one in Emerald. Richard encouraged me to glide instead which I did - but later he got into ultralights himself. It's interesting to note that 5 (including me) of the homebrew computer people I know later got into aviation. Three have an interest in home made aircraft.

Phil Webb(email) is another PC homebrewer and microprocessor interest group member. He also worked @ UQ until retiring due to ill health (CFS). He then lived in a solar powered house at Esk and is now living @ Warwick near my gliding club. We jointly own a photosmart scanner and a WIA150 MIG welder.

Jon Swabey AKA DrJon Hmm, it's a long story. I've seen Jon around since 95 or so. Mostly at his mother's place place. We also shared campsite at the woodford folk festival two years ago. If you're looking for a webmaster check him out.

Matthias Wandel calls me a "A cool alternative australian dude", I've been called worse things. I found his site while doing research for a digital scanning camera I'm hoping to build. He's been there already –http://www.sentex.net/~mwandel/tech/scanner.html I have a slightly more compact and less wooden model in mind though. He does similar hacking and fiddling to what I do – interesting site with interesting links.
